Both HP models are all-in-one units: print, scan and copy over Wi-Fi. The €65.99 difference is €7, and it buys one thing that matters every day — automatic duplex. The Envy 6120e prints on both sides without you flipping the paper. If you print more than ten pages a week, that is worth €7 many times over, in paper and in patience.
The DeskJet 4320 is the right choice if you print occasionally — forms, tickets, the odd document — and the smaller footprint matters more than duplex.
The cost nobody advertises
Entry-level inkjet printers are sold close to cost. The money is in the cartridges, and this is where buyers get caught: a set of replacement cartridges can approach the price of the printer itself. Before buying, check the price of the cartridges for the exact model and estimate how many pages you print per month.
If you print more than roughly 100 pages a month, the honest advice is to look at a tank-based or laser model rather than an entry inkjet — even though it costs more upfront. We would rather tell you that than sell you a printer you will resent in eight months.
Label printers are a different tool
